Fit-again Rachel Brown available for England squad
Goalkeeper Rachel Brown has declared herself available for England's Women's World Cup squad.
The Everton stopper has struggled with injury this season but expects to be fit to face Mexico on 27 June.
"My shoulder is the thing which has kept me out for a few weeks now, but it's 100% on track," Brown told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"I had a full-on goalkeeping session on Monday, which was it's ultimate final test after my strength and rehab."
Brown has had a stop-start opening to the inaugural Women's Super League season, having played just three games for Everton in the competition this season.
The 30-year-old is no stranger to injury, having suffered knee trouble throughout her career, but she admits the start to the current campaign has been disappointing.
"I've had quite an unfortunate start to the Women's Super League to be honest," Brown added.
"I've had a couple of freak injuries to my knee and thigh during training, which meant my whole knee swelled up. Then I took a knock from a mannequin, which sounds a bit odd, but twisted my ankle on that.
"So it looks like I'm going to give myself the best chance of being selected for the World Cup squad now that I'm actually fit."
Brown has represented England at Euro 2005 and Euro 2009 and also wore the number one jersey at the World Cup in 2007.
Even if she does claim her place in Hope Powell's 21-player squad on Friday the Burnley-born keeper admits, despite her experience, she is not guaranteed a starting place in Germany.
"Siobhan Chamberlain has had a great season with her club team Bristol Academy and Karen Bardsley, who plays in the professional league in America, has also had a great season," Brown continued.
"So, first of all for me I'd be really happy getting into the squad. Should I get in the squad, once we get out there hopefully that's when the real competition for the number one spot can take place.
"Assuming all of us stay fit, it is going to be a tight decision. I've got experience of major tournaments on my side, but Karen is in great form.
"So, I think it will come down to the couple of weeks prior to the tournament and how we perform in those two weeks."
