Derry City came from a goal behind to earn a draw against Premier Division leaders Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium on Monday night.

Gary McCabe scored for Rovers with a looping header over Ger Doherty in the 28th minute after Eddie McCallion had been caught on his heels.

Eamon Zayed levelled in the 67th minute when he rose highest at the near post to flick a header from a James McClean delivery into the net past Alan Mannus.

Derry drop to fifth place in the table.

The Candystripes fall one position because St Patrick's Athletic beat Dundalk 2-1.

Derry's next game is against Bohemians at the Brandywell on Friday night.
