Carlisle United have signed winger Jon-Paul McGovern on a two-year contract from Swindon Town.
The 30-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons man will officially move on a free transfer on 1 July when his Robins contract expires.
McGovern told BBC Radio Cumbria: "I'm absoultely delighted to join and I'm really eager to get started now."
"As soon as I met Greg Abbott I wanted to join. I under-achieved last season so now I've got a point to prove."
McGovern began his career as a trainee at Celtic and signed for Livingston in July 2003, following a loan spell with Sheffield United.
The winger joined Sheffield Wednesday ahead of the 2004/05 season and after two years with the Owls, he spent a season with MK Dons before his move to Swindon in 2007.
Manager Greg Abbott told the club's website: "Jon-Paul is a good one for us because he brings a bit of strength and experience to the mix.
"It's a really good signing. He's lively and a very good footballer."
