Ex-Oxford United striker Steve Basham has signed for Zamaretto Premier League side Oxford City.
Basham, who scored 43 goals in 168 games for United, played for City's rivals Brackley Town last season.
"I am really looking forward to this season, [City boss] Mike Ford is building a squad and it's moving forward," Basham told BBC Oxford.
"There is a lot of development going on here, so it is an exciting time for the football club."
City boss Mike Ford said: "Steve is technically very good and has fantastic experience. He's calm in front of goal and an excellent all-round player."
The former Preston striker left Oxford in 2007 and his move to City reunites him with ex-United forward Lee Steele.
"There's a couple of players I've played with at Oxford before like Lee Steele, who I played up front with, so it fits really well and I'm excited," said Basham.
"I still get a buzz [from playing], especially when you score a goal, and that's the most important thing for me, I'm busy with work and family life and I need to enjoy it."
