Leicester City have agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Neil Danns on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old, who will officially join the Foxes when his Selhurst Park contract expires at the end of June, has agreed a three-year contract.
Football director Andrew Neville told the club website: "Neil is a player that has drawn lots of interest so we are delighted he has chosen Leicester.
"His quality and versatility will add considerable strength to the squad."
Rangers had been hopeful of signing the attacking midfielder and thought they were close to agreeing a deal last week.
Manager Ally McCoist said: "That's life. There's no point in worrying about things you can't do anything about. We want players who want to play for Rangers."
Danns, who scored eight goals in 38 games for Palace last season, is Leicester's second new arrival of the summer following Lee Peltier's move from Huddersfield last week.
