Watford midfielder Ross Jenkins and defender Adam Thompson have signed new contracts, keeping them at Vicarage Road until 2014.

Jenkins, 20, whose previous deal was set to expire next summer, played 22 times for the Hornets last season.

Eighteen-year-old Thompson signed his first professional terms just seven months ago.

The Northern Ireland Under-18 international broke into the first team this season and tallied 11 appearances.

Jenkins, a product of the club's academy, made his Watford debut aged 18 in a League Cup win over Bristol Rovers in August 2008.

He went on to make 37 appearances that campaign and has played 85 times in total for the Hertfordshire side.
