Bath City are set to welcome back experienced midfielder Alex Russell.
Russell, 38, will join the Romans for pre-season training with a view to re-signing for the team he left for Yeovil in January.
"Yeovil was great but I just didn't feel I played enough," Russell told BBC Radio Bristol.
"I'll speak to (boss) Adie Britton, but I'd like to join permanently. I always said I'd play until I'm 40 and I still feel fit enough to do that."
He added: "It's a transitional period for me, going into playing part-time so I can look at getting into things outside of playing football."
Russell has had conversations with Bristol City academy manager John Clayton about joining the coaching staff there.
"It's one of my goals to get into coaching and Bristol City are offering me that chance," he said.
"John's been really good to me and it would be great to get some hours in and just try to pass on some of my knowledge."
