Derry City moved to within three points of Airtricity League leaders St Pat's as they eased to victory over Drogheda United in Friday's clash.
Eamon Zayed put the Candystripes ahead on eight minutes after running on to a long ball from Stewart Greacen.
Tiarnan Mulvennea went close for Drogheda before half-time but Derry took control and Gareth McGlynn's 74th-minute header doubled the lead.
Zayed missed several other chances before scoring the third on 90.
Greacen's ball over the Drogheda defence was pounced on by Zayed who slotted past Stephen Trimble to put the Candystripes ahead on eight minutes.
Mulvenna wasted Drogheda's best first-half chance on 18 as he glanced wide.
With James McClean dominating midfield and Patrick McEleney also impressive, Derry took complete control after the break.
Zayed squandered a couple of glorious chances before McGlynn glanced in Derry's second on 74 after good work by Ruaidhri Higgins and McClean.
Libyan international striker Zayed wasted another opportunity as he allowed impressive Drogs keeper Trimble to save but the Derry striker atoned in injury-time as he fired into an empty net after a pinpoint McClean cross.
