MK Dons midfielder Peter Leven has left the club after failing to agree terms on a new contract.
The 27-year-old was offered a new deal but the expiry date of the proposal has now passed.
He played 46 times last season but missed the last three games following surgery on a broken foot.
"While I am sad that it has come to this, I have the utmost respect for Peter," Dons boss Karl Robinson told the club website.
"Due to the relationship the club and I have with Peter, we will continue to support him during his rehabilitation and ensure he returns to fitness."
Since joining the Dons from Chesterfield in 2008, the Scot has made 130 appearances, scoring 22 goals.
