Southport captain Alan Moogan says they have a tough start to the new season.
The Sandgrounders will start at home to Lincoln on 13 August, before away trips to Alfreton Town and Luton.
Following Tuesday's release of the Blue Square Bet Premier fixtures, Moogan told BBC Radio Merseyside: "It's going to be a really difficult start.
"Lincoln suffered relegation last season, Alfreton got promoted and Luton were fighting promotion. It's one we're looking forward to," he added.
"We had a difficult start last season, in terms of the teams we played, and we did all right. Hopefully we can take as many points as we can out of those games."
After Southport were given the chance to retain their status in non league's top flight, Moogan has backed the club's plans to add players of Football League experience to the squad.
Manager Liam Watson has started the rebuilding process at Haig Avenue and 27-year-old Moogan approves of the early acquisitions.
"With the signings that he's made it looks to me like there's more ambition about the club," said Moogan.
"I don't know Simon Grand personally, but I know he's got a good background and a good CV.
"He's played in the Football League and he's been at Fleetwood last season and Aldershot. Also, Simon Akrigg from Skelmersdale United, he's come with a good reputation.
"Hopefully with these types of signings, it's only going to be good for the squad."
