Bournemouth sign Crystal Palace defender Adam Barrett
Bournemouth have signed Crystal Palace defender Adam Barrett.
The 31-year-old was a team-mate of Cherries boss Lee Bradbury at Southend, before signing for Palace in July 2010.
Barrett made just five league starts for the Eagles last season, but spent the end of the campaign on loan at Leyton Orient.
He told BBC Radio Solent: "I'm delighted to be down here. It was frustrating last year, but I've got fire in my belly and I'm raring to go."
The centre-back continued: "The move came out of the blue really. There were a couple of other clubs interested, and [Palace manager] Dougie Freedman didn't really want me to go.
"But I want to be playing regular first-team football, and when Lee came and approached me, this was the only place I wanted to go."
Meanwhile, Bradbury has confirmed that Bournemouth would be making a second offer for Charlton full-back Simon Francis.
