Evostik League First Division North side AFC Fylde have completed the signing of striker Lee Thorpe from neighbours Fleetwood.
The 35-year-old, who has made 526 career appearances, signed a one-year deal at Kellamergh Park.
"I spoke to Kelham O'Hanlon [AFC Fylde manager] early on to see what his plans were for the club," said Thorpe.
"I've been impressed with his vision about moving the club forward and they have some exciting plans."
He added: "I enjoyed it at Fleetwood last season but they had a squad that was very strong and I didn't play as much as I would have liked, but they are looking to win promotion and I want to play regularly."
Thorpe started his career with Blackpool in 1994 but only made 15 appearances before sealing a move to Lincoln City three years later.
He also had spells with Swansea, Torquay and Rochdale before eventually joining Fleetwood in August.
"I identified him at the back end of last season as a potential target but he was still very much part of Fleetwood's plans," said O'Hanlon.
"I have signed him to lead our line and Thorpey ticks all our boxes. He's powerful, very good at bringing other players into play and he's also unbelievably fit for his age.
"I'm sure he will be a big influence for the football club as we look to challenge for promotion this season.
"We have a number of exciting young players in the squad and Lee's experience from his Football League career will be invaluable."
