Captain Steven Schumacher has urged Bury to offer striker Ryan Lowe a new contract to end any doubts about his future and keep him at the club.
Blue Square Bet Premier side Stockport County have had two bids for the 32-year-old striker rejected this week.
Schumacher told BBC Radio Manchester: "We need to do everything we can to keep him.
"If clubs are offering Ryan good deals to go there we need to offer him the same deals to keep him."
Lowe scored 28 goals last season as the Shakers won promotion to League One and Schumacher hopes the club do everything they can to keep him.
"I just hope that this club can make him happy and secure his future so he's a Bury player," he said.
"I know he wants to stay here, he's more than willing to commit his future to Bury, so I just hope Bury are willing to commit their future to him."
