Qatar 2022 'whistleblower' admits lying
- From the section Football
The 'whistleblower' behind a series of corruption allegations involving members of Fifa's Executive Committee and Qatar's bid has told the BBC she fabricated the claims to exact revenge after losing her job on the campaign.
It must be stated the BBC only interviewed Phaedra Al Majid after being put in touch with her by Qatar bid officials, during research for a special report on the Qatar 2022 World Cup due to be broadcast on the BBC's Newsnight programme on Monday.
This is a short extract of Al Majid's interview with the BBC's Sports Editor David Bond.
