Crewe Alexandra manager Dario Gradi has decided against offering contracts to five trialists who featured in friendly matches on Monday evening.

Mark McCammon, Josh Gowling, Curtis Haynes-Brown, Mike Burke and Steve Powell have all left the club.

Former Gillingham striker McCammon scored in the 4-0 win at Congleton.

Gradi is still to make a decision on the future of Scottish goalkeeper Alan Martin, who is likely to play some part of the game against Wolves on Saturday.

Speaking on Monday about the trialists, Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "We have a better idea now and I will talk with the staff and then make a decision."

Crewe split their squad for the two games at Congleton and Rhyl.

Two goals from Byron Moore gave the Alex a 2-0 lead at Congleton and second-half goals from teenager Brendan Daniels and McCammon completed the scoring at Booth Street.

Meanwhile, regular first-team players Matt Tootle, David Artell, Adam Dugdale, Luke Murphy and Lee Bell featured in the 0-0 draw against Rhyl.
