Barrow joint-boss Darren Sheridan has hinted that the club will attempt to sign trialist Adam Boyes.

The 20-year-old striker scored the only goal in a 1-0 friendly win over Lancaster City on Tuesday.

Sheridan told BBC Cumbria: "He's got great touch, a great finish and he worked his socks off, and that's what you want.

"I'm sure if he keeps doing that and we do manage to get him on board, there'll be a few clubs watching that kid."

Boyes is currently a free agent following his release by Boston United in May. He had joined them on a short-term deal after having his contract cancelled by Scunthorpe United in January.

He started his career at York City, joining the Iron in 2009.

Meanwhile, Sheridan said he was undecided over the future of 18-year-old defender Cliff Moyo, another trialist at the club.

"I saw him playing as a young college student playing for England colleges and I invited him down to have a look at him and I think he did well.

"Physically he might have to come on a bit."
