Rochdale snap up former Preston defender Neal Trotman

Rochdale have signed defender Neal Trotman on a two-year deal following his release by Preston.
The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Oldham, the club where he made his professional debut.
He played just four games for North End after making a £500,000 switch to Deepdale from the Latics in 2008.
"I'm very pleased to have put pen to paper. There was interest from a couple of clubs," he told the club website.
"One of the things that swung it for me was the management.
"I have heard some very good things about them, their coaching methods and the way they want to play.
"I just want to improve and I believe I'm at the right club to do that."
Trotman started his career at Burnley, but was released as an 18-year-old without making a first-team appearance.
He joined Oldham in September 2006 before moving to Preston 17 months later.
But the centre-half struggled to make an impression with the Lilywhites and had loan spells at Colchester, Southampton, Huddersfield and the Latics.
