Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton has appointed former Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope as first-team coach.
The 39-year-old was sacked by Rovers in December, but had been on gardening leave until Thursday when his contract was mutually terminated.
In his five years in charge at the Memorial Stadium Trollope guided the Pirates to a Johnstone's Paint Trophy final and promotion from League Two.
His appointment at St Andrew's is Hughton's first as Blues boss.
Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood is being touted as a possible candidate to be named as Hughton's assistant.
