Bournemouth midfielder Marc Pugh has warned that the side must strengthen their squad if they are to achieve their League One ambitions.

The Cherries have signed Darryl Flahavan, Adam Barrett and Steven Gregory so far this Summer.

The 24-year-old told BBC Radio Solent: "We need to bring more players in, I'm not going to hide that fact.

"The lads we've brought in are looking good, but we need a few more players in order to be pushing for the play-offs."

Bournemouth, who finished sixth in League One last season, have already seen skipper Jason Pearce, Rhoys Wiggins and Danny Hollands depart but Pugh believes the Cherries need an attacking threat.

"We need a striker who can score 15 to 20 goals a season, that's what we lacked last season and it's important that we bring someone like that in," he continued.

"Last season we were underdogs and teams were expecting to beat us, but this season I think teams will pay a lot more respect to us.

"We've just got to not disappoint. We've got to approach this season like we did last season and not fear anyone."
