Derby County striker Craig Bryson faces a scan on a hip injury to see if he will miss the start of the season.
Bryson was forced to come off injured after 20 minutes of the 3-1 friendly win over Burton Albion on Saturday.
But despite the concern the forward has strained rather than bruised his hip, boss Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby he was delighted with Bryson's display.
"He has a knock but for the 20 minutes he was on, he was as good as anything on the pitch," Clough said.
"We are delighted with how he has settled in and I think he will be one of those lads we can rely on week in, week out."
Bryson, who joined the Rams from Kilmarnock in June, is likely to miss the pre-season friendlies against Macclesfield (Tuesday) and Morecambe (Friday).
