Hamilton secured a place in the second round of the Ramsdens Cup after beating Queen's Park at Hampden.

Craig Smith had an effort blocked by Hamilton's Simon Mensing and Dougie Imrie's swirling corner was tipped over by Spiders keeper Neil Parry.

Ali Crawford fired the visitors in front with a shot high into the net from close range on 72 minutes.

And David Hopkirk doubled Accies' advantage nine minutes from the end, finishing well from 12 yards.
