Southend United youth team coach Ricky Duncan says it would take a 'good offer' for the club to consider selling midfielder Kane Ferdinand.
Peterborough are tracking the 18-year-old, although the Blues say they have not received an offer.
Duncan told BBC Essex: "If anyone comes in for him now I think they are going to have to come in with a good offer.
"He's in our first team, he pulls the shirt on for Southend, its been his club since he was 14."
Duncan was speaking ahead of a youth team tournament at the club's Roots Hall ground this weekend.
Southend, Leicester, Norwich and Wolves are taking part in the competition.
Ferdinand is currently with the Republic of Ireland squad in the under-19 European Championships in Romania.
He broke into the Southend first team at the start of the year and went on to make 22 appearances.
