Egypt's captain Ahmed Hassan is to join Al Ahly's arch-rivals Zamalek.
Hassan's contract with champions Al Ahly expired at the end of last season, and a dispute between him and his coach Manuel Jose prevented any renewal.
He told BBC sport that as a professional player he would only take the best offer, and it came from Zamalek.
Terms of the contract have yet to be finalised.
The 36-year-old revealed that he had three other offers from local teams but he chose Zamalek because it is a big club, and especially after his former head coach Hassan Shehata joined Zamalek.
However he refused to reveal any details about his deal now until he officially signs up.
