Oxford United midfielder Asa Hall aims to score at least 10 goals for the League Two club next season.
The 24-year-old scored four goals in 44 appearances for the U's last season after signing from Luton.
He told BBC Oxford: "I want to get into double figures. I will aim for 10 and see how far I get."
Hall added that the U's were better prepared to push for promotion: "We've got some good quality in and there is strength in depth."
Oxford boss Chris Wilder has signed seven players during pre-season, and Hall believes that they have had an immediate impact during the club's pre-season tour of the USA.
He said: "We went as complete strangers and have come back as a strong unit."
The U's face Hall's former club Birmingham City on Tuesday in a friendly, and the former Luton player believes their pre-season will have a positive effect when the season starts.
"There has been a big contrast in the quality of the teams we have played against [in friendlies] which puts us in good stead for the season," Hall said.
