Yeovil Town have made their eighth signing of the summer, with striker Steve MacLean agreeing a one-year deal.

The 28-year-old has been on trial at the club in recent weeks, scoring once in four appearances.

MacLean has scored 78 senior goals in 266 games in a career spanning stints at Scunthorpe, Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff and Plymouth.

The Scot was released by Plymouth Argyle earlier this summer after ending last season on loan at Oxford.

He had been in talks with joining the U's permanently earlier this summer but a deal never materialised.

MacLean joins Gavin Williams, Kieran Agard, Dominic Blizzard, Curtis Haynes-Brown, Max Ehmer, Anthony Edgar and Bondz N'Gala as new faces in the Yeovil squad.

Manager Terry Skiverton is rebuilding after losing several players at the end of last season when their contracts ended.
