Jabo Ibehre's injury-time strike earned MK Dons a point against Hartlepool.
Daniel Powell hit the bar for the hosts before Adam Boyd's header put Hartlepool ahead, but Luke Chadwick levelled with a powerful low shot.
However, James Poole restored Hartlepool's advantage when he collected the ball 35 yards out, beat two players and calmly slotted home.
There was a late twist as substitute Ibehre fired into the bottom corner to give the Dons a dramatic equaliser.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"We out-passed them, out-played them, out-numbered them at corners and their keeper made five excellent saves, but that's football. You have got to roll up your sleeves and get on with it.
"Midway through the second half I didn't think we were clinical enough. We had them on the ropes and didn't finish them off.
"It is a young team who completely outplayed Hartlepool. If you speak to anyone from Hartlepool I am sure they will agree with us. "
