Promoted Wycombe held fellow newcomers Scunthorpe to a draw on the opening day of the League One campaign.
It was the Chairboys who took the lead when Scott Donnelly's corner reached James Tunnicliffe, who nodded in.
But the visitors were not behind for long as Michael O'Connor whipped in a cross which Michael Nelson headed home.
Wycombe had Ben Strevens sent off late on for his second booking and the Iron thought they had snatched it but Chris Dagnall's strike was ruled offside.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Wycombe manager Gary Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"A very valuable point against a very good side. It was a very competitive game where we held our own against a very good side who not so long ago were in the Championship.
"You could see the difference in quality from League 2 to League 1. The players, their movement, their sharpness, their athleticism. It's a step up for sure.
"We have had a few lads out injured and we have gone into the game and got something from it. We got a point and we are up and running."
