Port Vale manager Micky Adams has said he will look to add another striker to his squad after allowing Justin Richards to join Burton Albion.
"It was something that both parties agreed to and it allows me the freedom to bring in another player," the Vale boss told BBC Radio Stoke.
Adams' side drew 1-1 against League One Walsall at Vale Park on Saturday.
Sean Rigg opened the scoring for Vale, but the Saddlers drew level courtesy of an own goal from John McCombe.
Adams refused to be drawn on whether former loanee Tom Pope, currently at League Two rivals Rotherham, is one of his transfer targets.
"I don't talk about rumours," he said. "This time of the year, names get banded around. When we've got something to say, we will do."
The Vale boss is hopeful that new signings Ben Williamson and Ryan Burge will be fit to play a part in their final friendly of the summer against Biddulph on Tuesday.
