Burnley have signed winger Keith Treacy from cash-strapped local rivals Preston for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland international made 58 appearances for North End but has now signed a three-year deal with the Clarets.
North End chairman Maurice Lindsay told the club website: "We have to get the debt down or face bankruptcy.
"The offer for Keith with all the cash up front was one that we could not refuse in our present state."
Treacy started his career at Blackburn Rovers, progressing through the club's Youth Academy and signing his first professional contract in 2005.
