Tranmere have completed the signing of former Barnsley winger Martin Devaney on a one-year contract.
The 31-year-old was released by the Tykes this summer after six seasons and has made 415 career appearances.
Manager Les Parry said: "I'm delighted to be able to bring a player of Martin's quality to the club.
"He'll add creativity to our team and look to get forward as often as he can, providing some great opportunities for our strikers."
Parry added: "He's a great crosser of the ball, can beat players and pick out a team-mate. He's got plenty of experience in the Championship and will be a great addition to our squad."
