AFC Telford United have offered former Kidderminster defender Gavin Caines a trial, after the Bucks were left without defensive cover.

Injuries to defenders Robbie Williams and club stalwart Stuart Whitehead have left Telford without cover.

The 27-year-old has been on the Bucks' radar for several weeks and will now been given a chance to earn a deal.

Caines, who left Forest Green last season, spent five years at Cheltenham Town, making 142 appearances.

Telford boss Andy Sinton has already recruited defender Dan Preston following his release by Birmingham City.

BBC Radio Shropshire understands that the Bucks manager is also taking another look at former Mansfield defender Mark Preece, who spent a short time at the club last season on loan.
