Oxford and Bradford picked up their first points of the season with a draw at the Kassam Stadium.
Midfielder Simon Heslop fired United into the lead with a low drive from 25 yards out after a surging run.
But substitute Ross Hannah ghosted in to prod the ball home from five yards out four minutes after coming on.
The Bantams had chances to win it and centre-half Luke Oliver headed wide before Michael Flynn forced a save from U's keeper Ryan Clarke.
