Goalkeeper Marton Fulop has signed a one-year deal to move from Ipswich to West Bromwich Albion on a free transfer.

Fulop, 28, will provide competition to new loan signing Ben Foster, who joined the club from Birmingham last week.

That deal saw Boaz Myhill move on loan in the opposite direction leaving West Brom short of goalkeeping depth.

Manager Roy Hodgson said: "I'm delighted that we've signed a player of Marton's quality and experience."

Fulop, a Hungary international, came to England in 2004 when he joined Tottenham. After loan spells at Chesterfield and Coventry he moved to Sunderland in 2007.

Further loan spells followed at Leicester, Stoke and Manchester City as emergency cover for Shay Given at the end of the 2009/10 season.

Last August Fulop signed for Ipswich and made 38 appearances for the East Anglian side.
