Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has warned his players to expect changes following Saturday's 3-0 opening day defeat by Notts County.
United, who impressed in pre-season with wins against Championship opposition, return to action in the Carling Cup at Oldham on Tuesday.
"I backed players I thought would give a good account of themselves and they haven't," Abbott told BBC Cumbria.
"Players would think if I am not going to change it after that, it is unfair."
Abbott added: "It is not something I have made my mind up now but I will certainly think about it over the weekend, but it is something we will look at."
In addition to the defeat, Carlisle were robbed of the services of defender Frank Simek through a mystery hip problem.
The 26-year-old was withdrawn four minutes before the break, and the club have confirmed the US international will undergo a scan on the injury on Monday.
