Striker Barry Hayles says he and his team-mates are feeling confident ahead of Truro City's debut season in the Blue Square Bet South.
The Treyew Road side had a disappointing pre-season and Hayles believes the side are ready to get back to winning ways.
"The boys are feeling confident," the 39-year-old former Jamaica international told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"We've not had the best of pre-season results but we're gathering pace now."
And Hayles says he is still just as hungry to play now as he was in the Premier League with Fulham.
"I wouldn't be playing if it didn't to be honest," he added.
"I'm still enjoying it and I'm looking forward to another season."
