Barrow 1-1 Tamworth

Adam Boyes rescued a point for Barrow against Tamworth on the first Saturday of the Blue Square Bet Premier season.

Veteran striker Iyseden Christie gave Tamworth the lead with a drilled penalty after a handball from Bluebirds defender Adam Quinn.

The hosts levelled when Boyes got on the end of Louis Almond's left-wing cross and converted from 12 yards out.

There were few chances to win the game as both sides seemed to settle for a point at Holker Street.
