No Swindon Town deal for Michael Wojtanowicz

Swindon Town

Swindon manager Paolo di Canio has decided against signing Austrian trialist Michael Wojtanowicz.

The 26-year-old striker had been training at the County Ground but Di Canio told BBC Wiltshire: "He's not for us - he's not up for training hard.

"After two training sessions I said 'do you understand what goes on here? This will be the like the rest of the season' and he was worried about this."

Meanwhile, Swindon are still hoping to sign winger Lander Gabilondo, 24.

The Spaniard is also on trial at the League Two club and Di Canio added: "He'll sign, we've agreed everything - if he doesn't go mad in one day. But yes, we have agreed everything."

But club are still unsure about a deal for striker Wilko Risser, brother of Swindon captain Oliver, who has been training with the squad since July.

"If he has pressure to go somewhere, he can go," said Di Canio. "To be honest, I don't think he is an option but at the end of August we will see.

"Maybe he isn't going to be our main striker but he could be a physical presence."
