Hartlepool United have confirmed they will not appeal against the red card shown to midfielder Nathan Luscombe in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Walsall.
Luscombe, 20, as well as Walsall captain Andy Butler, were dismissed in the same incident by match referee Paul Tierney at Victoria Park.
"We think Nathan was harshly dealt with," first-team coach Mick Wadsworth told the club website.
"[But] we don't want to run the risk of the suspension being extended."
Wadsworth added: "It's not ideal being without him for three games but we have players who can come in and do a job so we'll deal with it."
The former Sunderland academy player joined Pools on a free-transfer in July after his contract expired at the Stadium of Light.
