York striker Jason Walker says scoring a penalty against Ebbsfleet helped lay the ghost of his shoot-out miss in the Blue Square Bet Premier play-off final.

But after netting against Ebbsfleet he told BBC Radio York: "It was good to get one to put that to bed, really.

"I took them at Barrow too. I'm confident, I'll take penalties and having scored one now it'll be hard to get them off me."

Walker's spot-kick brought York back on level terms at Ebbsfleet, before he went on to head a stoppage-minute winner.

And he paid tribute to the quality of Lanre Oyebanjo's cross from which he earned the Minstermen all three points.

"We've seen in pre-season games and in training he can put a great ball in when he's in that position," said Walker.

"You've just got to get yourself there. It was right on the money, it draws the keeper out and it was a pretty simple header in the end.

"It is important in this league, if you have any aspirations of going up, that you have to get off to a great start and we did, so it's a massive boost for us."
