Wycombe 1-4 Nott'm Forest

Nottingham Forest made light work of League One side Wycombe to ease through to the third round of the Carling Cup.

The Championship side raced into a 2-0 lead within six minutes through Ishmael Miller's shot - his first Forest goal - and a Lewis McGugan penalty.

Robbie Findley's low strike made it 3-1 to Forest with 30 minutes remaining.

Elliot Benyon pulled one back for the home side from the penalty spot, but Radoslaw Majewski had the final say for the visitors with a simple finish.

It was a comprehensive win for Forest, who have made a tentative start to the new Championship season under new boss Steve McClaren.

Practically from the kick-off they had control of the game, a dominance they translated into goals.

Miller - a recent £1.2m signing from West Brom - was played in by Majewski and made no mistake with a well-taken finish after just three minutes.

Their second goal arrived three minutes later when Miller was brought down by Wycombe goalkeeper Nikki Bull and McGugan thumped in the resulting penalty.

Between them, Miller and McGugan were terrorising Wycombe, but saw a number of efforts blocked by the home defence.

Wycombe came extremely close to pulling one back on the hour when Kevin Betsy played in Benyon but his effort hit the inside of the post with Forest keeper Lee Camp beaten.

There would be no such profligacy at the other end though minutes later as Findley cut inside before finding the bottom corner with a neat finish.

With 25 minutes to go, the League two side were handed a consolation when when Joel Lynch conceded a penalty by tripping Stuart Lewis, and Benyon sent Camp the wrong way.

There was still time though for Forest to add a fourth with substitute Joe Garner outmuscling Marvin McCoy before squaring it to allow Majewski to tap into an open goal.
