Tranmere Rovers striker Enoch Showunmi says Rovers have the ability to compete with League One's top sides.
The 29-year-old believes his team have nothing to fear on Saturday when they host Sheffield United at Prenton Park.
"I think last year we played better against the better teams in the league," he told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"Sheffield United look to be one of the better teams. It is about what we do on the pitch, play with confidence and hopefully get the three points."
Tranmere have taken six points from their opening three games although did fall to their first league defeat of the season against Notts County on Tuesday.
After making a solid start to the campaign, Showunmi says they have the confidence to cause problems against their rivals.
"I think in this league you need to make a good start," added the former Leeds United striker. "If you don't make a good start, then you're playing catch-up.
"Everyone can beat each other in this league and the big teams can find it hard. Sheffield United have had a good start and we've also had a good start and we can go out there with a lot of confidence."
