Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman has signed Oxford United midfielder Simon Clist on loan until 3 January.

The Bulls have lost their three league matches so far this season and Pitman is keen to bolster his options.

Clist, 30, joined Oxford from Forest Green Rovers in February 2009 and has made 89 appearances for the club, scoring 10 times.

He is likely to go straight into the Bulls squad for the League Two trip to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Pitman hopes to have at least one more player in before the weekend with a goalkeeper high on his list of priorities.

Regular keeper Adam Bartlett is out with a thigh injury and Pitman's 38-year-old assistant Russell Hoult was pressed into service for the 4-0 home defeat by Macclesfield Town.

Meanwhile, the Bulls' injury concerns are mounting with midfielder Rob Purdie struggling with a thigh strain he picked up in that game.

Full-back Joe Heath was due to have an X-ray amid fears he might have fractured his ribs during Tuesday's defeat.
