Wroxham boss eyes revenue from FA Cup run

Manchester City beat Stoke in last season's FA Cup final

Wroxham begin their FA Cup journey on Saturday against local rivals Dereham Town, with boss David Batch eyeing a cash boost.

The two Norfolk sides are among more than 760 teams entered into the Cup this year.

There will be 400 clubs competing in this weekend's extra preliminary round.

"The FA Cup, for teams like Wroxham, is great for revenue because the winner always gets some money," Batch told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"For teams at this level that's always very important.

"It's a game against local rivals who finished a place ahead of us last year, so that's what the buzz is about."

Both sides will have to win six rounds before they enter the draw for the first round proper.
