Swansea's Wales Under-21 goalkeeper David Cornell has joined League Two side Hereford United on a month's loan.

The 20-year-old has made one senior appearance for the Swans, a Carling Cup tie against Scunthorpe in August 2009.

The three-times capped Wales Under-21 keeper spent last season on loan at Welsh Premier League side Port Talbot.

Cornell has been included in Hereford's squad for their game against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

He signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Swansea in February 2010 but his opportunities at the Liberty Stadium have been limited and he was third choice behind Dorus de Vries and Yves Makaba-Makalamby last season.

Following de Vries' summer departure to Wolves, Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers signed goalkeepers Michel Vorm and Jose Moreira during the close season with Cornell falling further down the pecking order.
