Ryan Jarvis scored his first two goals for Walsall, who claimed their first away win of the season at Bournemouth.
Jarvis, who was making his first league start for the Saddlers, opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Liam Feeney handled in the area.
And the former Leyton Orient striker doubled the lead when he headed home from a Kevan Hurst corner.
Shaun MacDonald and Feeney spurned early chances for the home side, who have lost their last four league games.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent:
"When you look at the first 15-20 minutes we were the better team by far. We had two or three golden oppurtunities to go 1-0 up and we didn't take it.
"If you're not on the ball and marking aggressively then you are going to get punished and then we were always going to be chasing the game.
"It's such a tight line - success and failure - and we're finding that out quite harshly at the moment."
