Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law fury at 'playground' defending

Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law compared some of his side's defending to that of schoolboys following the 6-1 home mauling against Forest Green Rovers.

Law told BBC Radio Derby: "In general play, for spells, we did well in possession but some of the decisions we made at the back - oh dear.

"Every time they went forward they looked like they could score.

"We made wrong decisions all the time. The fourth, fifth and sixth goals you wouldn't see in a school playground."

Law, whose side romped to promotion from the Blue Square Bet North last season, added: "Two of the back four just weren't up to it today and have cost us three goals.

"To put it politely it was calamitous. The players know I am far from happy.

"They know we have to be remarkably better than we are at the moment. It's early doors I know but I think we are probably going have to look to bring in two or three players.

"We have a tough game against Darlington [on Tuesday] and we have to come back and have a different mindset and if not, we will get a thumping again.

"We have got players who can compete at this level but at the minute they can't get their heads around it."
