Kettering 1-5 York City

York City enjoyed a first-half blitz of four goals in 19 minutes at Nene Park to go soaring into third place in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Andre Boucaud and top scorer Jason Walker struck twice inside a minute.

Walker then added his second on 31 minutes before Adriano Moke made it 4-0 six minutes before the break.

Kettering pulled one back through Clinton McKenzie but the damage was done, sub Danny Pilkington wrapping it up deep into injury time.

City dominated from the first whistle as Chris Smith headed wide, Moke curled an effort past the right-hand upright and Jason Walker attempted an overhead kick.

It was no surprise when the Minstermen opened the scoring as Walker played in Boucaud, who drilled into the bottom corner from 12 yards.

York doubled their advantage almost immediately when Moke`s cross was volleyed into the top corner by Walker.

Gary Mills' men were rampant, adding a third when Smith headed the ball into the path of Walke, who drove in his fifth goal of the campaign.

And it was four when Moke converted Ashley Chambers' cross from close range.

The goals kept coming but this time it was Kettering who scored when Moses Ashikodi broke away down the right and swung over a cross for McKenzie to fire home.

The second half was a much tighter affair, with Poppies midfielder Jon Challinor having a volley well saved and Moke hitting the post for York.

But York managed a fifth goal with virtually the last kick of the match when Pilkington drilled home his first goal for the club from another Chambers cross.
