Hartlepool coach Wadsworth positive despite Stevenage draw

Hartlepool first-team coach Mick Wadsworth remains positive about his side's progress despite Saturday's 2-2 draw at Stevenage.

Pools led 2-0 at half-time, but ended up sharing the points after Scott Laird scored a last-minute equaliser in a second-half slump at Broadhall Way.

"We're not beaten, we're four games in," Wadsworth told BBC Tees.

"We've been away twice and scored two goals in both games and that's a good start, but we've got to be tougher."

Wadsworth's side could have been even further ahead at the break, but for a handful of missed chances in the first half in Hertfordshire.

"It's frustrating, but I've been in the game long enough now to deal with it," Wadsworth added.

"We worked their defence, we had some good situations, Andy Monkhouse has gone close from distance and Ritchie Humphreys has hit the bar.

"We have to be more ruthless, we should have been going home with three points."

Pools will travel to Spotland next to face Rochdale in League One on Saturday.
