Leicester City football director Andrew Neville has reassured fans that the club are still eager to sign a striker.
The Foxes have been desperate to sign a forward this summer but have had bids rejected for Nicky Maynard and Jermaine Beckford and missed out on Shane Long.
Neville told BBC Radio Leicester landing a striker remained a priority.
"We were hopeful a couple of days ago. Hopefully by Saturday we'll have somebody. It's not the answer people want but we're looking," Neville said.
City's expensively assembled squad have made an indifferent start to the season, collecting four points from their first four games.
Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has made no secret of his desire to sign another striker but Neville urged fans to be patient with regards to transfer dealings.
"It can be something that can happen very, very quickly or it can be something that's long-winded," he added.
