Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan has joined Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem on a year-long deal.

The 25-year-old joins from German side Schalke 04.

Annan only joined Schalke in January, from Norwegian side Rosenborg, with whom he won two league titles.

Annan - whose contract with Schalke runs till June 2014 - has made just nine Bundesliga appearances for the Royal Blues.

The diminutive midfielder has won more than 40 caps for Ghana.

He was a member of the squad that reached the final of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and reached the World Cup quarter-finals.
